Tim Lortz is a senior solutions architect with Databricks' federal team. He works with government leaders, architects, engineers, and data scientists to harness the power of their data by leveraging open-source frameworks such as Apache Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, and the Python and R machine learning ecosystems. His current focus is primarily on federal healthcare agencies. Prior to Databricks, Tim practiced as a data scientist and led data science teams at Defense and Intelligence agencies for over 15 years. He holds an MS and PhD in Industrial & Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan and a BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
